Mentor Match Initiative
Mentor Match Initiative pairs young people with experienced professionals in the fields they aspire to join—whether that’s graphic design, engineering, culinary arts, or entrepreneurship. Kids submit a simple application outlining their interests and goals; we then carefully match each applicant with a vetted mentor who provides one-on-one guidance, goal-setting support, and real-world insight over a six-month period. Quality mentoring has never been more critical: in 2023, one in three U.S. young people reported growing up without a mentor of any kind, leaving them at a disadvantage in discovering their strengths and passions MENTOR. Mentor Match helps close that gap, giving every child the encouragement and expertise they need to find—and pursue—their calling.
Inspire & Learn Workshops
Our free, hands-on workshops bring engaging, career-focused learning directly into underserved neighborhoods. From introductory “STEM Discovery Labs” where students code robots and build simple circuits, to “Creative Arts” sessions exploring digital design and storytelling, each workshop is designed to spark curiosity, build practical skills, and broaden horizons. These programs are vital: by 2025, an estimated 3.5 million STEM jobs in the U.S. are projected to go unfilled without expanded access to early STEM education iD Tech. Inspire & Learn ensures that every child—regardless of zip code—can explore fields, unlock potential, and chart a path toward future success.
Northstar Community Events
Bring neighbors together for a cause through vibrant, inclusive gatherings that uplift underserved communities and fuel our mission. Each event features live musical guests, food trucks offering local flavors, fun giveaways, interactive raffles, and family-friendly activities—all designed to foster connection and generosity. By turning celebration into impact, we empower community members to support one another: on GivingTuesday 2024 alone, U.S. donors contributed an estimated $3.6 billion through community-driven events, demonstrating the power of shared experiences to raise vital resources for nonprofits like ours.
